How To Fix “Sorry, this file type is not permitted for security reasons” Error in Woocommerce

Do you have a Woocommerce store? Lucky you! It’s a huge time-saver being able to export, update, and then import your products on a spreadsheet. Sadly, ecommerce store owners have been running into a bit of a problem. No matter how you try to import your products, you see “Sorry, this file type is not permitted for security reasons”. This error appears when trying to upload a product spreadsheet. You can’t import any products at all! Yikes! Even though the spreadsheet is the right kind of file.

There is a two click fix for “Sorry, this file type is not permitted for security reasons”

If you see that error when you try to import your products too, then I have good news for you. The fix is really simple!

Troubleshooting Woocommerce Product Import Issues

If you’re having an issue importing a .csv product file into your online Woocommerce store, this solution will take care of it in just a few clicks!

All you have to do is install and activate the free plugin called “Disable Real MIME Check”. After that, you should be able to import your product CSV or TXT file without any issues.
